Jacob Peebles

Jacob Peebles is a pioneer in the field of English as a Second Language (ESL) education and technology, with a career that spans over three decades and crosses multiple continents.

In the late 1990s, Jacob made his first mark in the ESL sector by founding an English school in Poland. To meet the increasing demand for quality teachers, he ventured into recruitment, developing a network that connected talented educators with institutions in need.

Recognizing the digital revolution’s potential, Jacob founded one of the first ESL job portals, employment.com, in the early 2000s. This venture quickly gained prominence, revolutionizing the way teachers sought out employment opportunities overseas. Its success led to the creation of the ESL Job Finder Newsletter, a resource still relied upon by hundreds of thousands of educators worldwide each week.

Jacob’s contributions to the tech industry didn’t stop at ESL. He was among the first employees at Outtask, a trailblazer in the travel and expense industry, which was later acquired by Concur Technologies. His entrepreneurial spirit and keen understanding of evolving technology landscapes also led him to become one of the first six employees at OpenHire. This innovative start-up later morphed into SilkRoad Technology, known for its comprehensive talent management solutions.

From ESL education to the forefront of technology, Jacob Peebles’ journey is a testament to his adaptability, entrepreneurial vision, and dedication to improving the experiences of educators and businesses alike.
